Hi, here's a preview of the screens you'll see when you are asked to set up 2-factor authentication, and instructions from CfC:
Note: please log out of 365 online in order to complete the procedure. You will need your existing 365 password and your mobile phone.*
*if you can't receive txt messages because of poor mobile coverage you will need to download the Microsoft Authenticator app from Google Play or Apple and select that option as your preferred method. Thanks.
1. Once you have been advised by Lizzi that your 2-factor authentication has been turned on:
> Go to the normal 365 login page. (You can use the link from 365global.net)
> Attempt to log in as normal.
After you have entered your email and password, you will see the screen below.
> click Next
2
> From the drop down menu, choose 'Authentication phone'
> Select the 'Send me a code by text message
Note: you can choose 'Call me' if you prefer to receive your message via automated voice, but SMS is much easier.
4
> Enter your mobile phone number
5
Microsoft will automatically* send you a text with a 6-digit verification code
> Enter the 6-digit verification code in the box
*normally received within a few seconds
6 IMPORTANT
You will see a screen 'Additional security verification'. The screen will contain an 'app password'.
It is important that you print/take a note of this password. It may be required on a one-off basis to access your local version of Outlook or another Office application on your computer. It is not an ongoing part of the 2-factor process.

That's it. If you successfully accessed your 365 account after entering the verification code received on your mobile then your 2-factor set up is complete.
You will need your phone with you whenever you need to access your 365 account online. You will not need it order to access your desktop Office apps.
